Tom Bocci, Producer
Throughout his career, Tom Bocci has enjoyed success in all the major areas of the Music Business. As a Music Supervisor/Producer for many motion pictures through the Tom Bocci Music Company, as Publisher/ Creative Director for Motion Pictures and Television for PolyGram Publishing and Walt Disney Music Company, and Creative Consultant to the Sony Music labels representing their catalog to film, TV, and advertising.
During a long association as Music Supervisor in the films of Blake Edwards and Henry Mancini, Tom saw his efforts rewarded with song nominations for a Grammy ("You Can't Resist It"/ Lyle Lovett from Switch) and an Academy Award ("Life In A Looking Glass"/ Tony Bennett from That's Life). His work on scores and soundtracks as Music Production Director for Walt Disney Studios aligned him with many legendary film composers including Jerry Goldsmith, Thomas Newman, Michael Kamen, and Basil Poledouris.
As Vice-President of Music for Warner Bros. Television, he was responsible for the creative direction and music production of twenty-two network series including ER, Friends, La Femme Nikita, and The Drew Carey Show.
In 1995 as artist, writer, and producer, Tom released a critically acclaimed world music CD entitled, "Vanishing Voices", recently heard on ABC's Primetime with Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson in a show devoted to wilderness therapy for troubled teens.
In early 2001 Tom produced "Rockin' Patriots" for Rhino Records. This Americana compilation included tracks by Randy Newman, Buddy and Julie Miller, James Brown, Richie Havens, and a new version of "This Land Is Your Land" featuring Jose Feliciano, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Bill Miller, Dar Williams, and Alvin Youngblood Hart; co-produced with slide guitar wizard, Roy Rogers.
After serving as Music Supervisor on the CBS network drama,"The District", Tom returned to record production with notable projects. He began with Jonathan Winters by recording the comedian's first studio album in thirty years; and then co-produced "The Last Wild Place Anthology", an acoustic singer-songwriter CD by Lacy J. Dalton on her own Songdog Records label. "Sanctuary", a song Tom co-wrote with acclaimed songwriter Larry Bastian, appears on the album.
Most recently he contributed Music Supervision to "Hard Four" an independent feature comedy starring Ed Asner, Ed Begley, Jr., and Dabney Coleman, written and directed by Charles Dennis.
Now with the release of "Ted Greene Remembered" he has produced a tribute CD honoring the work of his longtime friend, the late, legendary guitarist and teacher, Ted Greene. The album features performances by Tommy Emmanuel, Lee Ritenour, George Winston, Laurence Juber, a John Pisano /Ted Greene duet, Dan Sawyer, Anthony Wilson, Mark Goldenberg, Phil deGruy, Jay Graydon, Steve Ferguson, and Stephen Bruton. It's on El Dorado Records, the independent record label co-founded with his wife Wendy Bocci. Tom and Wendy live in Studio City,CA. with their dog Lucky and Rushmore, a sixty-five year old desert tortoise.
